10 DAYS/9 NIGHTS KENYA SAFARI AND SOUTH AFRICA HIGHLIGHTS

DAY 1: NAIROBI-MAASAI MARA
From Nairobi, transfer to Wilson Airport, Air Kenya Counter to board your morning flight to the world famous Maasai Mara, departing at 1000 hr to arrive in the Mara at about 1045hr. At the airstrip, you will be met and transferred to a selected lodge/camp in the Mara, which will be your game viewing base for the next two days. You arrive in time for a bit of relaxation before lunch. After lunch you depart for an afternoon game drive which will go late into the early evening. Return to the Camp for dinner and overnight. Day 2: MAASAI MARA
Book your wake up call the night before and start at dawn for a best game viewing chance. Look out for the “Big Five” for which this park is famous. Lion Buffalo, Elephant and Rhino and occasionally the elusive Leopard, as well as many herds of plains game abound in this park. After what should be a rewarding morning, you return to the camp for late breakfast. Thereafter relax by the pool for a swim or some reading before lunch. Lunch is served at the Camp. Thereafter depart for another game drive returning the late in the evening for your well - deserved rest and dinner. Overnight at the Camp. (BREAKFAST, LUNCH & DINNER)

Day 3: MAASAI MARA-NAIROBI/JOHANNESBURG/CAPETOWN
An early morning short game drive, then breakfast. Thereafter you are transferred to the airstrip to board your mid morning flight departing from the Mara at 1100 hr to arrive at Wilson Airport at 1215hrs. Met and transferred straight to JKIA to board your South African Airways, Flight No SA 183, departing at 3.40 p.m to arrive in Johannesburg at 7.00 p.m then immediately connecting to Flight SA 375 which departs Jo’Burg at 9.00 p.m to arrive in Capetown at 11.10 p.m.

On arrival you will be met by a Raydoll Tours representative and your local English speaking guide and assisted to your waiting vehicle.
This will probably be your first visit to this marvellous city. Sir Frances Drake, the famous Elizabethan explorer, called it the ‘fairest Cape in the whole circumference of the earth’. The flat-topped Table Mountain with its massive vertical sandstone cliffs is one of the most famous landmarks in the world and has been granted the status of a national monument. Together with Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens and the rest of the peninsula, it is part of the Cape floral kingdom, one of only six such kingdoms in the world. Though it is the smallest, covering only 0.04 % of the earth’s surface, it is the richest, with some 8 500-plant species, many of which occur nowhere else in the world.

You will be transferred approximately 30 minutes by coach to your hotel in Capetown for the night. Overnight at the Capetonian Hotel. (BED AND BREAKFAST)

DAY 4: CAPETOWN – CAPE PENINSULA TOUR
After breakfast you depart on a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula. Enjoy stunning views of the Cape travelling via Camps Bay, Hout Bay and Chapman’s peak to the Cape of Good Hope Reserve. There is a herd of endemic Bontebok living on this side of the reserve and it is possible to see them on the beach and in the surrounding ‘fynbos’, South Africa’s indigenous floral vegetation with flowering species throughout the year. Drive to the tip of the Cape Peninsula and walk to the lighthouse at Cape Point with it’s beautiful views overlooking False Bay, so named as the early navigators thought they had arrived at Table Bay. The walk continues on a boardwalk along the coastline where your guide meets you for the drive back to the city.

Return to Cape Town via Simonstown and Muizenberg where there will be a lunch stop. Lunch is an optional extra(on your own account). After a leisurely lunch you take a scenic drive back to Capetown where you arrive in the late afternoon. The rest of the evening is at leisure.Overnight at the Capetonian.

DAY 5: CAPETOWN – CITY TOUR AND TABLE MOUNTAIN
Depart from the hotel and drive up Kloof Nek between Table Mountain and Signal Hill to Tafelberg Road and the lower cable station. Board the new Rotair cable car that takes under 5 minutes to reach the summit of Table Mountain, 1036 metres above sea level (weather permitting). The views of the city and surrounds are spectacular and there is a chance to walk around the top of the table to view various parts of the city.

Descend from Table Mountain and return to the city via the Bo-Kaap, the Cape Malay quarter, and then leave the vehicle to walk through Government Avenue where the original settlers planted their vegetable gardens. Today it is home to the South African Museum, the Cultural History Museum, the Houses of Parliament, the National Gallery and St George’s Cathedral. Walk through the city to the old Town Square, bustling with the market traders of Greenmarket Square and St George’s Mall.

The tour ends just before lunch time and you can be dropped off at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront where you can enjoy your lunch (own account) and generally while away the time shopping or boat riding possibly to Robben Island , the prison island where Nelson Mandela was held captive. Or you may just relax and watch the world go by in this fun filled place. Return at leisure in the evening for overnight at the Capetonian. (BED & BREAKFAST)

DAY 6: CAPETOWN – JOHANNESBURG - SUNCITY
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast then transfer to the airport to board your morning flight to Johannesburg, Flight SA 326 departing Capetown at 10.40 a.m. to arrive in Johannesburg at 12.40 p.m. On arrival at the airport in Jo’burg you will be met and transferred by coach to the Northwest Province and the world re-known resort of Sun City. On arrival check in at Sun City Main Hotel, which will be your base for the next two nights. Dinner is own your account at any of the restaurants of your choice. Overnight at Sun City Hotel. (BED & BREAKFAT)

DAY 7: SUNCITY
The spectacular resort lies in an age-old bushveld valley in South Africa’s NorthWest Province. This unique resort complex offers a huge range of leisure activities, sports, entertainment and gaming.

The morning is free for own leisure activities. Lunch is for own account. In the afternoon take time to enjoy the activities on offer at the Entertainment Centre. There is a range of cinemas, good old-fashioned Bingo and a choice of Restaurants and fast food outlets. Gaming provides endless thrills with many hundreds of slots in the Jungle Casino and Superstar Entertainment in the Superbowl. There are many sporting activities on offer including Golf, Tennis, Lawn Bowls, horse-riding, mountain biking, cycling and jogging or if you wish you could spend a lazy day sun tanning on the golden sands of the Valley of Waves. Dinner is for own account. Overnight at Suncity Hotel. (BED & BREAKFAST )

DAY 8: JOHANNESBURG (HALF DAY CITY TOUR)
After breakfast depart for your journey back to Johannesburg where you arrive before lunch. Check in at Holiday Inn Garden Court, Sandton. Lunch is for own account.

After lunch depart for a half day city tour of Johannesburg. Highlights of the tour include: The Carlton Centre, the Railway Station, the historical buildings of downtown Johannesburg passing Hillbrow en route; the Mandela Bridge; the arty suburb of Melville; the Brixton Tower; the affluent suburbs of Westcliff and Houghton; the Zoo Lake, the old Stock Exchange Building etc.
Return to the hotel in the late afternoon. The rest of the evening is at leisure for own activities. There are many restaurants and fast food outlets in Sandton and you can enjoy dinner (own account) in your outlet of choice. Overnight at HIGC Sandton. (BED & BREAKFAST)

DAY 9: JOHANNESBURG (HALF DAY PRETORIA)
Breakfast is served in the hotel. Thereafter depart for a tour of Pretoria. Highlights of this half day tour include: the Voortrekker Monument, Melrose House, Church Square, Kruger House Museum, the Post Office and finally the Union Buildings, South Africa’s seat of government and the venue of the installation of Nelson Mandela, first democratically elected President of the Rainbow Nation.

Returned back to Johannesburg in the early afternoon and dropped off at a shopping mall. Transfer back on your own to the hotel in the evening. Dinner (own account) can be enjoyed in a restaurant of your choice. Overnight at HIGC Sandton. (BED & BREAKFAST)

DAY 10: RETURN TO NAIROBI
After an early morning breakfast transfer back to Jan Smuts Airport to board your return flight to Nairobi, flight SA182, departing Jo’burg at 9.30 a.m to arrive in Nairobi at 2.40p.m (BREAKFAST)
